What we believe, teach and confess can be found here: A short history of our church: St Luke Lutheran Church started in 1963 when several concerned Christians united to form a confessional Lutheran church in the Mount Vernon area. The first pastor was Rev Reinhold H. Goetjen who was called to serve in 1969. Pastor Goetjen served until 1973 and was followed by Pastor R. Hallman (1974-79), Pastor G. Gullixson (1979-84) and since 1984 we have been served by Pastor J. R. Dalke (1984-) St Luke Lutheran Church was originally an independent Lutheran congregation. It has been a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod since 1978. Our church building was originally a house. It was purchased along with one acre of land and was remodeled into it's present form. It was dedicated as a place of worship in 1976. Currently we are in the process of planning a new building and have purchased a lot and traded land we already owned for other land that is adjacent to our present facility. |
